December Drive

The 1st real snow of the season finally hit us, not to hard, but a week before the famous Quebec "snow-tire" law/rule comes into effect. Montrealer's driving abilities really become apparent through the onslaught of a couple of centimeters of snow, and exaggeratively so.

Having recently moved to a new office which is quite a distance from what I'm used to, and on the opposite side of this great city, it's amazing to see how many stunt and race car drivers that we have in this great city of ours.

Being a home to F1, and now Nascar, Montreal seems to provide excuses to all the wannabes out there to prove their mettle (or is that pedal to the metal?). The sheer lack of respect that most drivers exhibit in their want or need to be the leader of the pack or to own the road, simply proves why our highways and byways are always replete with fender-benders.

For example: How long did it take you to get to work today? How long does it normally take? And do you notice how much weather conditions correlate versus the clock for Montreal traffic. A mathematical equation could be calculated that weather+driving= stupidity squared.

Not saying that there aren't able and expert drivers out there, but the visible outweigh the norm. You can see a black-sheep in the flock easily.
